Melbourne-based mountain bike touring specialists MTB Adventures (part of the Get Lost Travel Group – GLT) have launched the first in a range of new regional road-strip style multi-day adventures which is now on sale. The brainchild of MTB Adventures manager Ben Matthews, the 8 day “Ultimate Bike, Beers and Bakeries” itinerary will see riders tackle Victoria’s premier mountain bike regions; Mt Buller, Bright, Falls Creek, Mt Beauty & Beechworth. Matthews comments; “Since MTB Adventures was conceived, this style of touring has always been the dream. We’ve been riding these tracks for years, and we’re stoked to be able to help riders unlock some of the Victoria’s hidden gems.” Aimed squarely at riders of an intermediate to advanced level, the tour offers tracks ranging from shorter cross-country loops, to machine-built descents and the mighty 42km long Australian Alpine Epic. Riders can expect to tackle between 4-7 hours of riding each day, before recounting the day’s highlights over a pint or two from a range of Victoria’s award-winning boutique and craft breweries. With immersive travel experiences in high demand, andmany of the global mountain bike community’s eyes turning towards Australia, this new style of touring seemed like the perfect fit.” Retailing at AU$2699 per person, the first departure is set to hit the road in December 2018, with a total 7 planned throughout the Australian summer season. Each tour is limited to only 10 riders, and with early initial sales from the international and interstate markets, the season is expected to sell out quickly.
